Killa

Music Type: Rap / Hip Hop

Where are you from? Cambridge, Ohio

Many artists do other things to support their music careers.  Do you have a “day” job? ” Nope, music is my life if I’m not working on KBE stuff I’m either writing a new song, making a new beat, or recording someone for a little bit of pocket change.

How did you get started in the music industry? I started playing in the death metal scene. Most of my connections are still from that scene but once I got older I realized that my true talent was producing beats for the hip hop industry. I started a couple little labels but it wasn’t until I met R.o.X that I started Killa Beatz Entertainment, my first official label.

What makes you unique as an artist?

I am a very diverse musician. I can not only play the piano, drums and guitar, but I just started rapping. With my talent as a musician before I came into the hip hop game, I have an ear for making music of all forms work for the Hip Hop industry.

What are you working on now?

Right now I’m working on releasing The Nail in the Coffin Mixtape and working on full albums for Kid Flame, Boom, and Olay. I am also working on a lot of separate collaboration projects with West Water Productions.

Is there anything else you’re passionate about besides music, and if so, how does this influence your music?

I have incorporated my music into my life so that everything I do is music. I am currently going to Cleveland State University for Business Management so I can run Killa Beatz Entertainment to the fullest. I am also working on getting into an audio engineering school to learn better producing skills…you can always learn more and grow.

Inspirations: Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, TuPac, Biggie, Drake, Dr. Dre.

At the age of eight, I can remember managing three bands while playing the guitar, drums, and piano.  I started in heavy metal and ended in hip-hop. Music has always been a part of my life partly because of my mom and sister. I can remember my mom forcing me to play piano and my sister listening to rap music until she, actually she never stopped. From Biggie to Jeezy, it didn’t matter who was singing I would listen. Soon after, I started to rap which led me to be an all-star player when it came to the music game. Once I was introduced to R.o.X it was over. We started Killa Beatz Entertainment in 2008 and plan to dominate the music industry in the years to come.
